Monsieur Maurice occupies five houses documented on a 16th-century map by Marcus Gerards, now preserved at the Gruuthuse Museum. The property stands on the site of the former '3 Keys' brewery, once Bruges' largest brewery. It overlooks the Lionbridge and sits along the canal near the city's medieval fortifications.
